Incoterms
Incoterms are the International Chamber of Commerce’s standard definitions of trading terms internationally recognised world-wide and clearly define obligations of seller and buyer respectively. Below is a brief guide to the terms:

EXW = Ex Works – seller makes goods available at his warehouse, carriage arranged by buyer.
FCA = Free Carrier – seller arranges/pays for pre-carriage to named place in country of export.
FAS = Free Alongside Ship – seller arranges/pays for pre-carriage to a named port of shipment.
FOB = Free On Board – seller arranges for pre-carriage to a named port of shipment paying for all costs to over ship’s rail.
CFR = Cost and Freight – seller arranges/pays for carriage to arrival destination port.
CIF = Cost, Insurance, Freight – as CFR plus seller insures the freight.
CPT = Carriage Paid To – seller arranges/pays for carriage to a named place of destination.
CIP = Carriage and Insurance Paid – as CPT, plus seller insures the freight.
DAF = Delivered at Frontier – seller arranges/pays for freight to a named place/frontier.
DES = Delivered Ex Ship – seller arranges/pays for carriage to port of destination, making goods available to buyer.
DEQ = Delivered Ex Quay – seller arranges/pays for pre-carriage to landed port of destination, making the goods available to buyer.
DDU = Delivered, Duty Unpaid – seller arranges/pays for carriage to named place of destination.
DDP = Delivered, Duty Paid – as DDU, plus seller arranges/pays for all import duties and local taxes.


IMCO Codes

IMDG/IMCO Codes are set by the International Maritime Organization for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by vessel and to prevent marine pollution:

Class 1 – Explosives

1.1; 1.2; 1.3; 1.4; 1.4s; 1.5

Class 2 – Gases

2.1 Flammable gas
2.2 Non-Flammable Gas
2.3 Poisonous or harmful gas

Class 3 – Flammable Liquids

3.1 Flashpoint from 0 to minus 18 C
3.2 Flashpoint from 0 to plus 23 C
3.3 Flashpoint from plus 23 C to plus 60 C

Class 4 – Flammable solids

4.1 Flammable solids
4.2 Solids liable to sponteneously combust
4.3 Solids that become unstable when wet

Class 5 – Oxidising agents
5.1 Oxidising agents
5.2 Organic agents or peroxides
Class 6 – Poison/ Harmful substances

6.1 Solid or liquid poisons
6.2 Biohazardous cargo

Class 7 – Radiactive cargo
Class 8 – Corrosive cargo
Class 9 – Other dangerous cargoes
